Demystifying the Alternative Credit Landscape

Lessons/Sessions to be included:
• Demystifying the Alternative Credit Landscape

As the alternative credit landscape continues to expand beyond traditional lending, advisors are navigating a broader and increasingly complex opportunity set. This educational session will demystify alternative credit, exploring how these strategies differ in structure, risk, and return potential—and why they are playing a growing role in client portfolios today.

The session will feature Jonathan Doolan, Co‑Head of Capital Formation at AMG, moderated by Keith Black, Director of Education at RIA Channel, in a continuing education (CE) eligible discussion focused on alternative credit strategies and a practical framework for portfolio evaluation.

Advisors will gain insight into:

  • Understand the asset class: Define alternative credit, including direct lending, asset‑backed credit, and specialty finance, and how these exposures compare with traditional fixed income
  • Explore market dynamics: Examine the key forces reshaping credit markets and why alternative credit solutions have become increasingly attractive
  • Gain evaluation insights: Provide a practical framework for assessing alternative credit strategies and determining their role within client portfolios
